Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, the ‘Big Apple’ never ceases to amaze. From there, pick up the High Line elevated walkway and head for the new Whitney Museum of American Art and bustling Chelsea Market food court.

Walk off lunch with a stroll around Central Park. Book tickets for the MOMA and view its collection of Picassos, Matisses and Jackson Pollocks. By way of contrast, the Frick Collection is full of Old Masters, and for serious art lovers, there’s the original Whitney and the Guggenheim, housed in Frank Lloyd Wright’s distinctive ‘helter-skelter’ building. For dramatic views of the New York skyline, don’t miss out on your free ride past the Statue of Liberty on the Staten Island Ferry, before heading back towards Wall Street and the deeply moving 9/11 Memorial and Museum.
