Singita Kwitonda Lodge puts its commitment to conservation into practice through low-impact tourism, reforestation and community development. The property itself was built from locally sourced materials, whilst the on-site nursery was founded to help re-establish the habitat of the region’s endangered mountain gorilla. Guests are led on thoughtful, guided excursions in search of these majestic creatures, whilst also offering a variety of other low-impact activities including village tours, cooking classes, yoga, wine tastings and golden monkey treks.

After a long day of hiking, retreat to your room for a refreshing dip in your personal plunge pool – a feature of each of the eight suites. Each suite is designed to reflect the spirit of the country, with more than 500 local artisans employed for hand-crafted touches like the woven ceilings and terracotta brickwork. Large windows open onto breathtaking forest and volcano views. The food prepared is fresh and full of seasonal ingredients plucked straight from the on-site garden.
