LUXURY NAMIBIA HOLIDAYS

ABOUT THE ITINERARY

Take this eight day journey through the breathtaking and relatively undiscovered landscapes of Namibia and experience the wind-carved dunes of the Namib Desert, the stark plains of Damaraland and the teeming Onguma Game Reserve.

After spending a night in Windhoek, you will fly to Sossusvlei to see the beautiful vleis, staggering red dunes and flat plains of the Namib Naukluft National Park, where springbok and jackal roam. Next, fly to the rugged region of Damaraland where there are zebra, giraffe, cheetah and birdlife aplenty, as well as a large population of the critically endangered desert-adapted black rhino.

From Damaraland, you will board a light aircraft to reach a private game reserve bordering Etosha National Park, a vast expanse of game-rich savannah and salt pan, where you can go in search of lion, zebra, leopard, elephant and giraffe in all seasons.

WINDHOEK

Upon arrival in Windhoek, you will be met and driven to your luxury hotel at the heart of the city where you’ll be spending one night.

Stay: One night at the Am Weinberg Boutique Hotel

Sossusvlei, Kulala Wilderness Reserve | Luxury Namibia Holidays | 91ºÚÁÏÍø
Day 3-4

SOSSUSVLEI, KULALA WILDERNESS RESERVE

Today you will be transferred by road to Eros domestic airport in time to board a light aircraft to Sossusvlei and your lodge within the 37,000-hectare Kulala Wilderness Reserve. From here you’ll be able to fully appreciate the splendour of the world’s oldest desert – the Namib.

You’ll visit attractions like Sossusvlei, a salt and clay pan surrounded by vast sand dunes shaped by the wind into great crescents and shifting curves. Here photographers have a chance to capture images of a seemingly alien environment, whilst guided game drives offer encounters with unique desert-adapted wildlife such as springbok, gemsbok, bat-eared fox and dune larks. Guided walks and sundowner drives are also on offer, but for something really spectacular a balloon safari is one of the most memorable ways to experience the region.

Stay: Two nights at Little Kulala – full board

Palmwag Concession, Damaraland | Luxury Namibia Holidays | 91ºÚÁÏÍø
Day 5-6

PALMWAG CONCESSION, DAMARALAND

From Sossusvlei you’ll find yourself flying to the huge Palmwag Concession in the Kunene region of north-western Damaraland. The reserve protects one of Africa’s largest populations of the critically endangered desert-adapted black rhino. During your stay you’ll be able to go rhino tracking on foot and by car alongside dedicated conservationists, with sightings of elephant, giraffe, springbok, oryx and zebra to be had en route.

Guided nature walks are a great way to learn about some of the desert’s lesser-known flora and fauna and how they survive in this harsh environment. Birding is an equally rewarding experience, with species like Rüppell’s korhaan, Benguela long-billed lark, Herero chat and Verreaux’s eagle all making an appearance.

Stay: Two nights at Desert Rhino Camp – full board

Onguma Game Reserve, Etosha National Park | Luxury Namibia Holidays | 91ºÚÁÏÍø
Day 7-8

ONGUMA GAME RESERVE, ETOSHA

Day seven brings you to the Onguma Game Reserve which enjoys a prime location on the outskirts of Namibia’s premier wildlife destination – Etosha National Park. Encompassing acres and acres of game-rich savannah and a huge saltpan, the park supports big cats like lions and leopards, as well as elephants, hippos, white and black rhino, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra and a variety of antelope species.

The Lodge stands in the privately-owned, 30,000 hectare Ongava Game Reserve. It is set alongside the southern edge of Etosha Enjoy interpretive bush walks, birding and traditional day, night and sunset game drives.

Stay: Two nights at Ongava Lodge – full board

“FLAWLESS, AGAIN”
This is the third time I’ve used TUTC. The service, as before, was flawless. Aside from putting in place all the major details of a complex trip to Japan, Dan at TUTC nailed every detail: train tickets were for seats with large luggage space (very important in Japan, as we discovered); a mobile internet wifi was included; together with a pre-charged use-pretty-much-anywhere travel card (again, important – Japan has multiple transport companies). For any kind of complex trip I won’t go anywhere else.

“FAULTLESS AND FUN”
We’ve just returned from a Danube cruise with Douglas Skeggs and Joanna Worsley, with a few days in Vienna beforehand – all brilliantly overseen by Emily. From meet and greet at the airport to every detail on board the Amadeus Cara, the organisation was seamless. We’re already looking forward to our next Escorted Tour with 91ºÚÁÏÍø.

“EVERY TRIP EXCELLENT – AND MORE TO COME”
I’ve been on several small group holidays with 91ºÚÁÏÍø and every one has been outstanding. My most recent trip in February was no exception – expertly organised, responsive to questions, and full of memorable experiences. The itineraries are well thought out, the hotels top-notch, and the group sizes just right. Their tour leaders are knowledgeable, supportive and great company. I haven’t looked elsewhere since discovering Ultimate – and I’m already planning my next.
