If Juliet, instead of musing quietly, had given her lines a good bellow the youthful ‘Romeos’ at the Accademia could have heard her. Shakespeare set the play in Verona and Juliet’s house, with its legendary balcony, is in Erbe Square, just a short stroll from Accademia. From 1565 it was known as the Accademia dei Filotimi; an educational establishment for young noblemen.

Today’s Hotel Accademia is a delightful combination of elegant tradition and modern luxury and, as you step out onto Via Mazzini, you can well imagine yourself in Verona at the time of the Capulets. Little has changed in the old city; it is still a place of many layers, offering you a rich tapestry of art and architecture, sophisticated shops and happening restaurants.

“FLAWLESS, AGAIN”

This is the third time I’ve used TUTC. The service, as before, was flawless. Aside from putting in place all the major details of a complex trip to Japan, Dan at TUTC nailed every detail: train tickets were for seats with large luggage space (very important in Japan, as we discovered); a mobile internet wifi was included; together with a pre-charged use-pretty-much-anywhere travel card (again, important – Japan has multiple transport companies). For any kind of complex trip I won’t go anywhere else.
